Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts

Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts (SSLA), Pune is a constituent institute of Symbiosis International University, which has been accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ Grade. It offers undergraduate degrees in Bachelor of Arts (Liberal Arts) and Bachelor of Science (Liberal Arts).

Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts Eligibility 

  • All applicants seeking admission at Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts are required to write the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET)

The student should have passed Class 12 with at least:

  • 50% for General Category
  • 45% for SC/ST Category
  • IB Diploma: 

The student must have a minimum of 24 credits and completed:

  • examinations in all six subject areas (3 subjects at Higher Level and 3 subjects at Standard Level)
  • core requirements consisting of Extended Essay, CAS Hours, Theory of Knowledge

The student must have 4-5 subjects in A, B, C grades including:

  • English at Ordinary (“O”) Level 
  • 2-3 subjects at Advanced (“A”) Level

Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts Application Process

  • Step 1: Register for Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) 
  1. Visit 
  2. Fill in personal information in the web portal
  3. Choose ‘SET-General’ paper
  4. Make a payment for the SET fee and SSLA registration fee.
  5. Download admit card from the portal 
  • Step 2: Appear for Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET)
  • Step 3: Personal Interview and Writing Ability Test Round

A list of shortlisted candidates is released that are eligible to appear for the second selection round. The Personal Interview and Writing Ability Test (PI-WAT) Round will be conducted at Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts, Pune.

  • Step 4: Final Selection

Candidates are selected for admissions into Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts on the basis of their SET score and performance in the PI-WAT Round.

Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts Fees

Programme Fees for B.A./B.Sc (Liberal Arts) – INR 3,85,000 (p.a.)

Course Details 

The duration of the B.A/B.Sc (Liberal Arts) programme is four years, which is covered over eight semesters. In order to graduate, it is mandatory for students to complete a minimum of 198 credits.

  • Requirements that students need to fulfil in order to graduate from Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts:
  • 20 Cores (Compulsory Courses), including:
    • Community Outreach Project: 2-months community service with a written report and presentation on the fieldwork.
    • Seminar Paper
  • 6 Electives: courses spread across genetics, mathematics, environment, philosophy, literature, performing arts, theatre, religion, art, etc 
  • 1 Minor Specialization (6 papers) 
  • 1 Major Specialization (12 papers), including:
    • Internship: in the area of Major Specialization with an Internship Project Report along with viva and presentation.
    • Research Project
    • Additional Minor (6 papers) or Additional Electives (6 courses) or Double Major (10 papers) without the Minor
