The University Of the Fraser Valley also known as the ‘University College of The Fraser Valley and also Fraser Valley College’. It is a Canadian public university with their campuses located in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission and Hope, British Columbia. The university was founded in 1974 as the name Fraser Valley College. 

The University grew rapidly, and now it became one of the largest university colleges in Canada. The enrolment for the students is now more than 15000 students annually. At the moment it might be even more in number.

University of Fraser Valley Admission Requirments

There are some requirements to get in the university.

General Requirements

 Some general requirements are the applicants should have completed the equivalent of Canadian Grade 12 and some specific entrance programs requirements for admission into any career option in the university. 

English Requirements

  • IELTS Academic – score of 6.5 or higher with a minimum band score of 6.0.
  • TOEFL – score of 88 or higher with no section below 20.
  • CAEL – score of 70 
  • PTE – score of 61 with 60 in writing.
  • cambridge – certificate of proficiency in English CPE min C.
  • Cambridge – Certificate of Advanced English CAE – A
  • EIKEN – Grade 1
  • Can Test – score of 4.5 with a minimum writing score of 4.0
  • MELAB – score of 85 or more.
  • LPI – score of 30 (Level 5)
  • English 12 C+ (or recognised Canadian equivalent).

Qualifying Studies – academic upgrading for program admission

  • IELTS – score of 6.0 or higher than that with a minimum band score of 5.5.
  • TOEFL – score of 80 or higher than that with no section below 19.
  • CAEL – score of 60 minimum.
  • PTE – score of at least 56 with 52 in writing.
  • Cambridge – certificate of Advanced English (CAE) – C
  • Cambridge – first certificate in English FCE- A
  • EIKEN – grade pre – 1
  • canTest – overall score of 4.0 in listening, reading and writing.
  • English 12 C- or recognised Canadian equivalent.

ELS – University Foundation – English and Academic upgrading

  • TOEFL – score of 71 or higher than that with no section below 16.
  • IELTS – overall score of 5.5 with a minimum band score of 5.0 
  • CAEL – score of 50 minimum
  • PTE – score of 46 with 44 in writing
  • EIKEN – grade 2A with CSE 2400 or higher than that
  • CanTest – score of 70 or higher than that
  • MELAB – score of 70 or higher than that
  • LPI – score of 18-23 (Level 3) or higher

The students with lower scores must first apply for English Language Studies upgrading. Applications with no proficiency score cannot be processed.

Program Requirements

You can consult a copy of the UFV academic calendar for detailed admissions requirements for each of the programs that are offered by the university. Applicants for the English Second Language Program must have high school of Form Five completion and be at least 18 years of age. 

Although one can be accepted conditionally into an academic or career program based on your transcript and the language proficiency score, one may need to take upgrading classes to meet math, science, or other such requirements, as required by your chosen program of study.

University of Fraser Valley Application Fees

The application fee is $150 (8008 INR). When a student completes the online application, then they will be prompted to pay a non-refundable application fee of $150 CAD for all the undergraduate and post-baccalaureate programs and $250 CAD for all the graduate certificates and diplomas, and master’s degree programs.

The deadline of Fraser University is May 1, 2020. The students needs to also note that the deadline in the offer of admission for receipt of the tuition and fee deposit any outstanding official transcripts.
