University of St. Gallen

The University of St. Gallen is a research university located in St. Gallen, Switzerland. It houses five schools within its campus, namely School of Finance, School of Management, School of Law, School of Humanities and Social Science, and the School of Economics and Political Science. Also well known by the acronym HSG, it has its main focus in business administration, economics, law, and international affairs. According to some recent surveys, the University of St. Gallen (HSG) is placed with some of the best business universities. The Financial Times in 2019 ranked it at number 4 in Europe. The university is EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA accredited.

However, the HSG is highly recognized for its famous Strategy and International Management program, which takes in just 50 students every year. Admission is granted through a compulsory admission test, generally scheduled in February at St. Gallen. The selection process, besides taking into account the admission test scores, also observe the candidate’s GRE score, a well -rounded application with crisp SOPs, well-explained essays, and good third-person recommendations.

The HSG plans a large number of services and activities for its students. A student union works for the interest and welfare of students. They organize Fresher’s week, offer counseling and psychological services to the students. Besides, foreign students enrolled with the University of St. Gallen are granted excellence scholarships based on merit. These scholarships paid over three years are awarded annually to the students. There is also a Starr International Foundation Scholarship Fund for highly talented international students. The university partners with many top institutions all over the world like

There is no provision of on-campus accommodation at the University of St. Gallen. Students can share or rent apartments depending upon their budget. The student union on its website provides all the information on accommodation options.

An open-access library with more than 600000 books, journals, and more than 130000 e-books serves the students at the HSG. The university also provides gym and sports facilities to its students. Besides, its ideal location between Lake Constance and the Alps makes way for all kinds of leisure activities like rock climbing, trekking, and sailing. More than 120 active student associations and clubs contribute to an enriching university experience for the students of the University of St. Gallen. These clubs are diverse in their themes and range from geographical like the Asia Club to sports like the St. Gallen Lacrosse Club to culture like the HSG Big Band.

The Career and Corporate services (CSC) team at the University of St. Gallen supports students in their career planning, and the coaches and career counselors there offer their expertise through various workshops and individual consultations. The global alumni are powerful and maintain good contact with the university.
