After an MoU between the Government of India and France for mutual recognition of academic degrees, the number of Indian students applying for studying in France has increased manifold. Students planning to pursue their higher education in France must have come across the term, ‘Campus France.’ Campus France is an organization working under France’s Ministry of Higher Education and Research to help and facilitate higher education in France.

All the needs of an applicant from application in a university to getting visa and accommodation are taken care of by Campus France. The student can thus peacefully concentrate on his studies rather than running hither-thither for paper works. A student can register himself by visiting the official website of Campus France or can contact them by clicking on the ‘contact us’ tab on the website.

Activities of Campus France

It is involved in a myriad of activities. It provides all the information about all public colleges and universities of France, starting from the courses available there to their fee structure to their ranking and faculty. It also guides students on their documentation for student visa applications. The VFS France decides on the final grant of student visa on the feedback of Campus France. It also guides and informs the applicants for various scholarships available. It also assists the students in the scholarship procedure that may be required for international students. Further, it also helps students in finding accommodation in or around the university.

Student Interview

A student, after setting up an account for higher studies in France, gets an interview call from Campus France. It is the preliminary interview that is conducted on behalf of the university or college. It covers a wide range of topics, including the student’s language proficiency, his bio, and reasons for applying to the university. A recording off this interview is sent to the universities as part of the application process.

Language courses

In collaboration with various other institutes, campus France runs French language courses and provides necessary certificates for language proficiency in France to interested applicants.

Research Education

One of the major tasks of Campus France is the propagation of research education in France. It thus conducts various events to attract researchers from around the world to come and carry out their research activities in France.

Campus France processing fees

The Campus France charges processing fees for the services it offers. For a stay exceeding 90 days, Indian students need to pay a fee amounting to INR 15,500 only. It doesn’t charge any processing fee for a stay of fewer than 90 days. The payment has to be done online.
