Founded in 1978 in Raumanga, Whangarei in New Zealand, North Tec is a public tertiary education provider in the Northland region of New Zealand. Although its main campus is situated in Raumanga, NorthTec has campuses all over Northland. It has campuses and learning centers in Dargaville, Kaikohe, Kaitaia and Rodney District. Originally founded as the Northland Community College on 1 April 1978, its main objective was to provide quality education of trades to the community of Northland. The growth of the college was at a rapid rate when the highly skilled workers were in demand from NorthTec that they had to increase the courses that were offered to 50.
