ABOUT ASSINIBOINE COMMUNITY COLLEGE

The Assiniboine Community College was established in the year 1961 as the Brandon Vocational Training Centre. It is a non–profit charitable organization registered with the Canada Revenue Agency. The management of the college is supported by volunteers and community leaders who are determined to enhance the vision, mission and values of the college, along with helping the students complete their post-secondary studies. 

The donors play a key role in providing better training to the students of the Assiniboine community college. The campaigns by the college community help gather a decent amount to support the learning space for the students. Assiniboine manages $4.9 million endowment for scholarships, awards, bursaries and capital projects. The college’s management is deemed to imparting the best quality education and provide exceptional learning opportunities to its students.

Assiniboine Community College provides financial aids in the form of merit-based scholarships and bursaries. Each year the Assiniboine students receive $400,000 in the form of Scholarships and Bursaries. Scholarships are based on a variety of criteria’s like academic achievements, school or community involvements, athletics etc. while bursaries are mostly based on financial needs. The various scholarship and bursaries are classified according to the levels of study: 

• Entrance Awards: Entrance awards are for the students who are entering into a program. 
• Bridging Awards: These awards are for the students who are entering into an additional year of study.

• Automatic Scholarship:
  • Automatic scholarships does not require any formality in the form of applications and are automatically granted on the merit basis to the eligible students.

BACHELORS IN ASSINIBOINE COMMUNITY COLLEGE

There is a total of 73 Bachelor Courses available at the Assiniboine Community College. Just like Master Diploma Course, Under graduation Diploma courses for one year or even for six months are also available. Some of the courses are Accounting, Agribusiness, Legal Administration, Business Administration, etc. Diploma courses are also available at the college, and online diploma courses are also available where students can collect information and knowledge in the span of 6 months to 1 year as well.

There are more than 30 Master courses available at the college in almost every department. Master courses for many subjects are available for 3 Years as well as for one year, which would be the Diploma Courses. Some of the courses in which Masters, as well as Master Diploma, are: Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Culinary Arts, Interactive Media Arts Etc.

MBA at Assiniboine Community College

Assiniboine Community College has joined hands with the famous Cape Breton University who has an excellent program of Masters Business Administration in Brandon itself. The first class started in January 2019. With classes scheduled about 16 weekends a year, the MBA program caters to people who need the flexibility to balance work, family, and studies. Presented by Assiniboine Community College, all courses are conducted only on weekends by acclaimed faculty from all across Canada.

Assiniboine Community College is famous for a friendly and welcoming attitude; the students are approachable, kind, and supportive. So are most people in the cities of Brandon and Dauphin but other than that there are many international students as well.
