About Central Queensland University

Central Queensland University was founded in 1967 in Rockhampton as the Queensland Institute of Technology (QIT) Capricornia and received university status in 1992. It was renamed the University of Central Queensland the following year. The university changed its name to Central Queensland University in 1994. The University grew in size in 2008, and it became CQUniversity. Today, the university enrols over 30,000 students and is one of Australia's major rural universities. Exceptional academic facilities are available to students from Australia and nearly 140 other nations around the world.

Central Queensland University Campus

The university's main campus is in Rockhampton's Norman Gardens, but it also has campuses in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Cairns, Bundaberg, Brisbane, Gladstone, Emerald, Townsville, Noosa, Sydney, and Mackay. Not only that, but the institution also runs a number of study centres.

In the Rockhampton region, there are two campuses: Rockhampton City (previously CQ TAFE) and Rockhampton North. For PG programs:

Students are recognized at the Central Queensland University based on their academic abilities and prior experience. To select candidates for graduate programs, the University conducts a thorough review of all applications. Depending on the program, the minimum prerequisites may differ. The criteria for PG programs are as follows.

  • Higher Secondary certificate issued by CBSE, ISC, West Bengal, or Maharashtra boards with an average of 60% in four academic courses, or Higher Secondary certificate awarded by all other boards with an average of 65 percent in four academic subjects.
