The percentage can be converted out of 10, there are ways to convert a percentage to GPA out of 10, the process is as follows:

  1. 25 points in percentage are equal to 1 point in GPA.
  2. Many universities across the globe like Universities in Europe follow the 10 point GPA pattern.
  3. Students need to multiply or divide their percentage marks with 9.5.
  4. Most of the time, students multiply their percentage marks with 9.5.
  5. GPA= Percentage/9.5
  6. Or, GPA= Percentage*9.5.
  7. Example: A’s Percentage is 85%.
  8. Therefore, 85/9.5.
  9. 85/9.5=8.9.
  10. 8.9 can be categorized under ‘Good’ GPA.

Percentage to GPA in India

  1. Many Indian Institutions use a different formula for conversion
  2. Majority of the Indian Institutions follow the formulas used in countries such as the USA or UK.
  3. Indian Universities mostly use the technique to divide the percentage marks with 100.
  4. After dividing the marks with 100, further students need to multiply the amount with 4.
  5. Example: If A’s marks are 75%.
  6. Divide 75/100.
  7. After dividing 75/100 multiply the amount by 4.
  8. 75/100*4.
  9. The GPA will be 3.
