Maulana Azad scholarship is one of the organized governmental foundations where these types of scholarships are available and it covers minority girl students. The main objective of the scheme is “to recognize, promote & assist meritorious girl students, belonging to national minorities who can’t continue their education with financial support.”

It granted because Maulana Azad scholarship will be suitable for expenditure on payment of school fees, purchase of syllabus books, purchase of types of equipment required for their course & every necessary thing they are needed.

Types of Maulana Azad Scholarship

It offers 2 types of scholarships:

  1. Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship
  2. Maulana Azad National Fellowship

Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship

Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship is for meritorious girl students who belong to the six communities other than Hindu (Muslim, Christ, Buddhists, Parsis & Jains). This Scholarship to the meritorious girl students who belong to the six communities other than Hindu (Muslim, Christ, Buddhists, Parsis & Jains).

But the application must be submitted online within the mentioned period in the official website. But it also has an extra advantage. That is those who are applied in this scholarship, and they have not submitted any fees. So, Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship offered by the ministry of Human Affairs, Govt. of India. It is only for girl students who are now studying in between class 9 and class 12.

The basic criteria are that their family income does not exceed INR 2 lakhs. Not only that, but they also scored a minimum of 50% marks in each class’s annual exam conducted by their institution. The successful girl students get INR 5000 each per year who are now studying in class 9 and class 10 and who are now in class 11, and class 12 will get INR 6000 each per year. This is the most prestigious & popular scholarship that is conducted by Govt. of India own.

Maulana Azad National Fellowship

Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF) is another one that is also offered by UGC, and it is also available for six minority categories as that of the previous scholarship. But these scholarships, candidates are provided five-year fellowship in the form of financial assistance who are currently studying M.Phil and Ph.D. program in India. If any candidate wants to get only M.Phil, the duration is two years. So, she gets only two consecutive year scholarships. And if anyone wants to get both M.Phil and Ph.D., the duration of this course is five years. So, she gets a total of five consecutive scholarships.

The basic and foremost criteria of this scholarship is the annual family income of their must not be more than INR 2.5 lakh. And students must be cleared master’s degree with minimum 50% marks of the recognized university in India. Every successful candidate will get INR 25000 every month for two years (only for Junior Research Fellow) and INR 28000 (for senior Research fellow).

Not only that, but this scholarship is also specified for the subject basis that is: If a student is in the background of humanities, social science & commerce, they will get INR 10,000 per annum for the first consecutive two years, and INR 20,500 per annum for remaining three years.

If they are the background of science, they will get INR 12,000 per annum for the first consecutive two years and INR 25,000 per annum for the remaining three years. It also gets a scholarship for reader assistance of physically and virtually challenged candidates. They will get INR 2000 per annum. Maulana Azad Scholarship Application Process

For applying on the Begum Hazrat Mahal National scholarship, the candidates first checked the official website of MAEF and read all the instructions very carefully and click on the continue.

Then fill the application form and attach all the required documents that are needed. Finally, submit the form:

  1. The documents that are required are school certification form, the income certificate of their family issued by the competent authority. These must be legal.
  2. An illegal issued copy will be banned and hamper the student’s carrier and finally two passport size photographs. It may be black and white or colored, no definite. These total programs will be completed online.
  3. For Maulana Azad Fellowship, the same step as for the previous scholarship. But the documents that are required are caste certificate, any research work, physically or visually disabled certificate, and finally the document of current employment.
