Kingston University London is a prestigious public research university situated within the Royal Borough of Kingston over Thames, in South West London, England. Its establishment initially occurred as Kingston Technical Institute, founded in 1899. Kingston University secured university status in 1992, before which the institution was referred to as Kingston Polytechnic.
Kingston University London first opened its doors in 1899, offering courses in chemistry, electrical wiring, building construction, nursing, dressmaking, and clay modelling. It was designated as a technical college by the Board of Education in 1926. From Kingston Polytechnic, the University has renamed Kingston University in 1992.
