Chartered Accountant Course orCA is one of the most popular entrance level professional courses in commerce stream. It doesn’t mean that only commerce students can pursue this course, anyone who covers all the terms and eligibility requirements or criteria can pursue this.

CA is a designation given to professionals of accounting arts who has received certification from a statutory body ICAI and are qualified to deal with the matters related accounting and taxation of a business, like an audit financial statements and business practices, maintaining records of investments, preparing and reviewing financial reports and documents. CA is also qualified to offer advisory services to clients which include companies or individuals.

How to Enrol in the Chartered Accountant (CA) Course?

Earlier to get enrolled in CA stream after 12th standard one has to give the common proficiency test or CPT but now this test is converted into a CA Foundation course at its new level. The candidate or student applying for the foundation level must qualify his/her 12th standard and secure at least 50% marks.

The candidates who want to pursue this has to register himself/herself under ICAI and upload necessary document then only they can appear for the entrance exam. The foundation exam is divided into two parts subjective and objective. Both contain two papers of 100 marks each. Foundation exam is exempt from the graduated, post-graduate students.

Chartered Accountant (CA) Intermediate

CA intermediate is the second level after qualifying the Foundation exam. Any candidate who has qualified his/her foundation entrance exam is eligible and can register for this level. After making registration the student has to go under a study tenure of approximately 8 months and then appear for the exams. After 2 months the results of the intermediate level will be revealed by the ICAI.

Any candidate who has already pursued his/her post-graduation is directly eligible for the final level and is not bound to give intermediate exams.

CA Articleship Training

After clearing the intermediate level the candidate is bound to appear for 3 years practical training and after completing this training they are eligible for the final level of CA.

CA Course Final Level

CA Final is the last level exam in the Chartered Accountancy course. Students have clear both the groups of the intermediate for registering in the final group.

Candidate can register for the CA Final Exam while completing their last 3-6 months of Article ship training. You will be certified as a chartered accountant after passing all the 8 exams ( two modules) of CA final level.

Ans. After completing Chartered Accountant (CA) course, an average salary is Rs 7 lakh per annum approximately. According to ICAI, the highest package can reach upto Rs 24 lakh per annum approximately.

Is CA course difficult?

Ans. CA course is a difficult course as the syllabus is vast and it needs hard work and intelligence. You can compare the CA course with IAS, IIT, CAT, MBBA, UPSC, and many courses.

Can I do CA after 12th?

Ans. You can pursue CA after 12th class, you just need to register and take the Common Proficiency Test (CPT). Those who have completed their graduation doesn’t need to apply for CPT. They can directly apply for the 2nd stage of CA course.

Is there any age limit for CA?

Ans. You can become CA at any age, their is no age limit as such. For clearing CA final you will be given only 10 attempts after which the candidate has to apply again that will be valid for 5 years.
