The State of Jammu and Kashmir has come up with the AICTE JK Scholarship also called the Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) for the students who are interested in pursuing technical education after senior secondary school. JK Scholarship was initiated in 2011 and this scheme provides financial assistance to the undergraduate level outside J&K. This scholarship is offered by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is implemented within J&K.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is an advisory body at the national-level which takes a cover of the technical educational institutes of the country. AICTE JK scholarship invites applications for Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) 2019-2020 for students in Jammu & Kashmir that deserve this scholarship.

Apart from this, the AICTE also offers scholarships and fellowship opportunities for the merit-based students, within a stipulated time duration.

AICTE JK Scholarship- Login Procedure

How to login to AICTE JK Scholarship:

  1. First, you must visit the PMSSS Registration portal online.
  2. Then click on the registration button of the PMSSS portal and select any one of the categories between Diploma Registration or 12th Registration.
  3. Fill in detail the details asked in the registration form, make sure that you proofread the entries before saving it.
  4. After you have checked the details, click on the Submit button.
  5. You will receive a verification link on the email id that you have given. Verify your Email ID.
  6. You may also receive an SMS.
  7. Registration is thus complete.
  8. Visit the portal again and then try to login through email id and password.
  9. After you have completed filling the details, click on the Submit application.
  10. You check the application status on the same website.

AICTE JK Scholarship- Merit List

Recently, the provisional merit list of the candidates has been released who are eligible for the AICTE JK Scholarship. The merit list has been curated and released in accordance with the data provided by the students. The HSC marks of the applicants are also considered.

The results of the Provisional Seat allocation round one in the PMSSS has been released recently. AICTE is also expected to release the Mock Allotment for the list of colleges and courses. In the following bullet points, we’ll look at the method of checking the merit.

AICTE JK Scholarship- Latest News

The AICTE JK Scholarship Counselling is generally conducted in rounds of four, i.e Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and Round 4. Round 2 sees the candidates being offered a seat which they have to fill in the institute they have been allocated within three days.

Therefore, it is advisable that the candidates come fully prepared for them to join the allocated university or college directly through the counseling.

  2. But since last year, the students are asked to verify their documents before filling their choices online.

AICTE JK Scholarship (2020-21)- Last Date For Registration

The Jammu and Kashmir state government came up with the JK Scholarship option, where the students selected on the basis of merit get some financial help if their interest lies in taking up technical education. Higher education is the most important aspect of a students’ life.

The fact that remains though is, it is very expensive and not everyone can afford it. Parents contribute hugely to their child’s education. Higher education is important, and like Japan and China, India too is focussing on increasing access to higher education among the students.

Let’s look at the tentative and final date for the application form of 2020-21:

  1. The tentative date for online registration is the 10th of April 2020.
  2. The tentative last date for registration for the class 12th passed out students or appearing students are expected to be 31st May 2020.
  3. The tentative final date of online registration for the diploma passed out students is 18th June 2020.
  4. Please note that the diploma passed out students’ application is for lateral entry in engineering stream only.
  5. The tentative date for the online document verification of registered candidates at facilitation centers is 16 April 2020 to 31 May 2020.
  6. The tentative date for a choice filling option for students whose documents have been verified is 22 April 2020 to 31 May 2020.
  7. The same for the lateral entry students is 20 April 2020 to 14 May 2020.
  8. The provisional merit list of candidates would then be released tentatively by 11th June 2020.
  9. The document re-verification at facilitation centers will be held between 11 June 2020 to 13 June 2020.
  10. Please note that the dates are tentative and hence should be confirmed again after the dates are released officially. Stay tuned till then.

JK Scholarship (2019)- Social Welfare

The students from the state of Jammu & Kashmir can now apply for the Pre-Matric, Post-Matric, and Minority Scholarship under the PM Special Scholarship Scheme also called the AICTE JK Scholarship. The students who are currently studying in or have passed out from a school registered in the state of Jammu and Kashmir may apply for this scholarship.

The merit-based list is prepared from among the applicants from the Economically Weaker sections like the OBC, SC, ST, and minority students. The MHRD Ministry has worked in tandem with the Social Welfare Department under the Jammu and Kashmir Government to help the students with this scholarship scheme.

  1. Passport-sized photograph of the applicant 
  2. Preferred size of the photograph should be 200 X 230 pixels
  3. Scanned signature of the applicant

  1. In order to avail of the JK Scholarship service, the candidate has to go to the URL jk.gov.in/jkeservices and log in there. 
  2. Before applying for the scholarship, the user needs to complete the registration process using a register link.
  3. The register link will be provided to the candidate after completing the registration process.
  4. The applicant has to upload all the necessary documents asked for in order to complete the application process.
  5. The documents include Scanned photographs, id Card like Aadhar or Driving License, etc.

The tribal population in the state of Jammu and Kashmir is still in its nascent stage. The varied diversity that the state of Jammu and Kashmir is astonishing and a chunk of ST population adds more to the vividity of the place.   1. The application form for the same can be downloaded from https://scholarships.gov.in
  2. The candidates who are eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship by going through the following steps. 
  3. The first thing is to visit the homepage of the National Scholarship Portal. 
  4. Click on ‘New Registration’.
  5. After reading the guidelines carefully, select the undertaking and click on ‘Continue’.
  6. Select the scholarship category, state of domicile, type of scheme, gender, applicant’s name, DOB, Email ID, etc.
  7. Provide banking details.
  8. Select Bank Account Number or Aadhar for identification purposes.
  9. Following this, click on ‘Register’.
  10. Verify with the OTP received.
  11. Now you can log in and apply for the application.

  3. Passing Class 12th from CBSE or state board school located in the state is an important prerequisite.

  6. The annual income of the family should be less than INR 8 Lacs per annum.
