BSc Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a 4-year undergraduate course offered by various colleges across the globe. Its main aim is to create affectionate individuals who assist doctors in medical treatments and also take care of patients and help them heal with love and care. Nursing is a very demanding, admirable, and inspirational career. In India, the Indian Nursing Council controls the course. The course helps to develop critical thinking skills, competence, and standards needed to practice nursing in a successful manner.

Admission to the course takes place through entrance exams. The entrance exams of BSc Nursing are held between the months of April-June, However, due to COVID-19, the exams have been postponed. New dates will be announced soon. A student who has completed 10+2 with 50% marks and had biology as a subject or has a diploma in nursing is eligible to apply for this course. Many private and government colleges offer this degree. One can also pursue master’s in nursing, child health nursing, mental health nursing, etc after graduation.

A BSc. Nursing graduates can work as a Clinical nurse in a government or private hospital, nursing home, clinic, health department, medical service of the army, navy, or air force. BSc Nursing Fees

BSc Nursing The average annual fees range from INR 2000 for government colleges to INR 1,50,000 for private colleges. It depends on factors like college facilities, ranking, and type of college.

It is compulsory for students to pay their first-year fee with an admission fee at the time of the admission process. Colleges also ask students to pay a security fee which is refundable after completion of the course. The placement opportunities range from INR 2,00,000 to 4,00,000.

BSc Nursing Entrance Exam

To take admission in B.Sc. Nursing aspiring candidates have to pass entrance tests at the state or national level. The Nursing Admission Test is the only possible way to get admission into nursing courses. The entrance examination is also conducted by many private/government colleges. Admissions take place on the basis of merit.

The application forms for these examinations can be filled online or offline as per mode as instructed by the college. Admission will be given to those who will fulfill the eligibility criteria. The syllabus has these six parts i.e. biology, physics, chemistry, general ability, English, and General knowledge. The exam is usually 2 hours and 400 marks. It is an objective paper.

BSc Nursing Admission

BSc Nursing admission is through entrance exams held between the months of April-June. Candidates can fill the application form in both online or offline mode.

Once you have selected a list of colleges in which you would like to apply to get admission, Go to the University/College website and fill the application form with all the required details and Id requirements. The payment for application fees can be done either both online or offline, only offline or only online as decided by the college.

All the entrance examinations don’t have the same eligibility criteria. It differs from college to college. The most basic requirements are:

  1. passed class 12th with a minimum of 45% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology. 
  2. Studied and passed English as a subject in class 12th.

BSc Nursing AIIMS

AIIMS is an institute of national importance and admissions to the medical seats of the institution’s various branches are conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi through different entrance exams. Admit cards of AIIMS Nursing 2020 will be released on May 13 for B.Sc (H) Nursing. B.Sc (H) Nursing will be held on June 28, 2020.

Candidates who pass the entrance examinations will be eligible to take part in the counseling procedure of the same. Application fees: Rs 1500 for Gen/OBC candidates while it is Rs 1200 for SC/ST/EWS candidates. Application to be filled online and the exam will also be conducted in online mode. Exam conducted in the English language and the time duration is 120 minutes. The paper is of total of 100 marks. Each correct answer will fetch one mark and every incorrect answer will be given -1/3 marks.  Subject wise marks are as follows-

  • Physics – 30 marks
  • Chemistry – 30 marks
  • Biology – 30 marks
  • General Knowledge – 10

The first round of AIIMS Nursing 2020 counseling will be conducted by AIIMS Delhi in the online mode. The choice filling for the first round is expected to close in the third week of June. The order of counseling will be General/ST/SC/OBC. The counseling will be done strictly on the basis of the combined merit list. The result of the first round of counseling is expected to be released in the last week of June.

BSc Nursing BHU (Banaras Hindu University)

Banaras Hindu University or BHU is a globally acclaimed university situated in the holy city of  Varanasi. Banaras Hindu University accepts admission in B.Sc Nursing course through an entrance exam. All the aspirants who want to get admission in this course need to qualify this entrance exam. Candidates who wish to apply for the exam can do it online on official website bhu.ac.in. There are a total of 60 seats for the B.Sc nursing course. All Indian nationals currently living in India can apply for the same.

The online registration will begin from 2nd week of April 2020. The last date for registration is the 2nd week of May 2020. Admit cards will be released once registration is over and the entrance exam is likely to take place in the 2nd week of June. The exact date will be announced soon. The entrance exam is conducted offline i.e it is a pen-paper based exam. There will be a total of 100 questions which are to be solved in 2 hours.

The exam has a weightage of 400 marks with objective questions. Every correct answer will be given +4 marks while no marks will be deducted for incorrect answers. The application fee is Rs. 1000/- for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 750/- for SC/ST/PC category candidates which can be paid through debit Card/ Credit Card / Net Banking / NEFT. The counseling process will start in the last week of August 2020

BSc Nursing KGMU

King George’s Medical University offers the undergraduate course B.Sc. Nursing. King George’s Medical University accepts admission in B.Sc Nursing course through an entrance exam. All the aspirants who want to get admission in this course need to qualify this entrance exam. Candidates who wish to apply for the exam can do it online on the official website https://www.kgmu.org/

The online registration will begin from 3rd week of May 2020. The last date for registration is the 2nd week of July 2020. BSc Nursing Scope

There is a lot of scope for BSc Nursing graduates, they choose to do a job or study further. Job as  Nursing Advisors to the Indian Government, Nursing Assistants/Supervisors, Teachers, and Nursing Superintendents among others are available.

FAQ

Can a BSc nurse become a doctor?

Ans. Even if someone has graduated as a BSc. Nurse he/she has to study MBBS for 5.5 years to become a doctor. There is no procedure for lateral entry into MBBS while doing a BSc course.
Hence once you have completed 4 years of BSc. Nursing then you will have to do an additional 5.5 years of MBBS to become a doctor.

Is Neet required for BSc Nursing 2020?

Ans. No, an individual aspiring to get admission into B.sc Nursing need not apply for the NEET exam, Different colleges conduct their own entrance exams for entry into B.sc Nursing courses.

Can a boy do BSc nursing?

Ans. Yes in India both boys and girls can apply for the Bsc Nursing course if they meet the eligibility criteria of the college.
