About 85% of government exams in India consist of bank exams, SSC exams, and Railway exams. Government jobs are considered the most sought after profession in India. Being such high valued jobs around the country, the competition level is very high. Speaking of upcoming government jobs in the year 2020, below is a list of all upcoming exams in no specific manner.

The above exams were a few that are upcoming government examinations and these exam details give a gist of all the major post requirements and eligibility. 

Here is the list of Upcoming Government Exams:

IAS Exam

IAS Exam is also known as the Civil Services Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). IAS Exam is conducted offline annually. The exam patterns are 2 parts, that is, Prelims (i.e., MCQs) and Mains (Descriptive papers).

The final stage is the UPSC Personality Test, that is, interview. The age limit for IAS Exam is 21-32 years although, a person is not supposed to have taken the exam more than six times. The application for this exam can be submitted online. The Upcoming government exams dates specified for this year are May 31 and September 18 for Prelims and Mains, respectively.

UPSC CAPF

UPSC CAPF conducted by Union Public Service Commission. The candidates recruited through this exam join the forces as Assistant Commandant (AC). This exam is conducted offline once a year. The various stages of this exam are written, physical and interview, and personality tests.

The application for this year is available from April and ends by May. The tests for UPSC start from August and end in December with each stage of the exam in different months. The final result for this exam will be declared in January 2021. The age limit to appear for this exam is 20-25 years. There is no limited number of attempts to appear for this exam.

SSC CHSL

Staff Selection Commission conducts SSC CHSL and this exam is the most popular among the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) exam. Though this exam is less tough, it is a fiercely competitive exam. This upcoming government exams application opens in November 2020 and closes in January 2021. The exam starts in March 2021.

The posts filled by clearing this exam are Sorting/Postal Assistant (SA/PA), Data Entry Operator (DEO) and Lower Division Clerk (LDC). The age limit for this exam is between 18 to 27 years. The qualifications required is the candidate must be 12th pass or equivalent. This exam is conducted in 3 tier process. Tier 1 is computer-based, Tier 2 is Descriptive Paper, and Tier 3 is the Skill Test.

SSC CGL

Staff Selection Commission conducts SSC CGL and the SSC CGL is an online recruitment process for Combined Graduate Level. SSC CGL is an exam conducted in 4 Tiers, namely Online Multiple choice questions, Online Multiple choice-based, Offline Subjective, and Skill test, respectively. The online submission time for SSC CGL is in the month of September-October 2020. The exam starts with Tier 1 from February-March 2021, and different tiers are conducted in different months.

The usual recruitment process for this exam takes place to fill posts like Assistant Inspector, Assistant Section Officer, Assistant, Auditor, Upper Division Clerk, Junior Statistical Officer, etc. Only the citizens of India, Nepal, and Bhutan are eligible to apply for this exam. The age limit for this exam is 18-32 years. The applicants should be qualified by holding a Bachelor’s degree.

SSC CPO

SSC CPO is an exam conducted for Central Police Organization. SSC CPO is a national, open competitive computer-based exam to select candidates for sub-inspector (SI) in Delhi Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in CISF conducted by Staff Selection Commission.

The exam is conducted in 2 papers. Paper 1: Physical Standard Test(PST)/ Physical Endurance Test(PET). Paper 2: Detailed Medical Examination(DME). The duration of this exam is 2 hours. Candidates between 20-25 years are eligible for this exam. This exam is conducted annually. SSC CPO exam is flexible with two languages, namely, Hindi and English.

SSC JE

SSC JE is conducted by Staff Selection Commission annually. SSC JE full form is Staff Selection Commission Junior Engineers. This exam is conducted to recruit posts of Junior Engineers for various Departments in the Government of India in various fields like Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Quantity Surveying, and Contracts, etc.). The online application for this upcoming government exams should be submitted by September 2020, starting from August 2020.

There are two stages of exam: Paper 1, which is a computer-based exam, and Paper 2, which is a conventional exam. There are various age limits for various positions. The minimum qualification required to apply for this post is B.E./B.Tech/ or Diploma in Engineering. One of the most notable features about this exam is that it carries negative marking for wrong answers. The candidates are penalized with 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

RBI Grade B

RBI Grade B is an exam from the Reserve Bank of India. This examination is conducted for the recruitment of Grade B officers. This examination is conducted annually and one of the most important examinations of all the banking examinations. Grade B comprises three different grades of employees, namely, General, DEPR, and DSM.

These jobs are considered as one of the most respected jobs in India, and RBI makes sure the difficulty level to pass this examination is quite high. The age limit to appear for this exam is 21-30 years. There are three phases with phase 2 having three papers. Phase 3 is the final interview for 50 marks, and the candidate shall opt for Hindi or English. The Phase 1 exam starts in June 2020.

RBI Assistant Examination

The Reserve Bank of India conducts the RBI Assistant Examination. This exam is considered as one of the most prestigious exams conducted annually for the recruitment of candidates for Assistant posts in different branches of RBI across India.

This year the exam is held for recruiting Assistants for a total of 926 vacancies. The candidates are shortlisted based on the Main exam and Language Proficiency Test. The selection process involves 3 phases, namely, Prelims, Mains, and Language Proficiency Test. The age limit for this exam is 20-28 years.

IBPS RRB

IBPS RRB exam is an exam conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection for Regional Rural Bank. This exam is conducted for recruiting posts for Assistant and Officer Cadre in Regional Rural Banks all over India. The online application should be submitted by July 2020, starting from June 2020.

The upcoming government exams for various posts start from August 2020 and expected to announce results by December 2020. This exam is conducted in three stages, namely, Preliminary, Mains, and, finally, the interview. The pre-exam training is conducted for candidates who belong to SC/ST and Minority Communities for free of cost by IBPS.

IBPS SO

IBPS SO exam conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection to recruit Specialist Officers in various disciplines. This exam is conducted online at various centers across India. The various stages of IBPS SO are Online Preliminary Examination, Online Mains Examination, and Interview.

The age limit for this exam is between 20-30 years. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. There are no restrictions on the number of attempts on this examination.

RRB ALP

RRB ALP exam is a national level exam conducted by Railway Recruitment Board to recruit Assistant Loco Pilot in different railway zones across the country. This exam is conducted based on vacancies available in this field. There are 12 languages available to take up RRB ALP.

There are four exam stages, such as First Stage CBT, Second Stage CBT, Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), and Document Verification. The age limit to appear for this exam is 18-28 years. Stage 1 of this exam starts in August 2020.

RRB NTPC

RRB NTPC is one of the upcoming government exams and is an online exam conducted by Railway Recruitment Board to recruit candidates for Non-Technical Popular Categories(NTPC) graduate and undergraduate posts, which includes Junior Clerk cum Typist, Goods Guard, Station Master, etc. There are various age limits for various positions.

NIACL AO

NIACL AO is an exam conducted by New India Assurance Company Limited. The recruitment for Administration Post is done in two categories as NIACL AO Generalist and NIACL AO Specialist. The age limit to appear for this exam is 21-30 years of age. The prelims started in January 2020, and the Mains are conducted in March 2020.
