Overview

Pharmacists are healthcare professional experts in medicines, with a detailed understanding of the scientific basis of therapy. The Bachelor's and Master's programs integrate pharmaceutical science into the practice of clinical pharmacy. As a pharmacy professional, one will be a frontline healthcare provider and will also possess a direct impact on people's lives and health.

As stated by the Johns Hopkins University, "Pharmacy is a doctoral health profession in which licensed professionals provide information about medications to patients and health care professionals. As "medication experts," pharmacists are concerned with safeguarding the public's health in matters relating to medication distribution and use and disease state management. Pharmacists play a vital role in improving patient care through the medicine and information they provide."

As per records, six out of every ten pharmacists work in community pharmacies on the high street or in supermarkets. Another popular branch considered in this field is hospital pharmacy, which lets you work closely with nurses, doctors, and various other healthcare professionals. In one or two years, a hospital pharmacist can also choose specialisation in areas like cancer, paediatrics, HIV, surgical or education and training.
