Philosophy is a subject, mostly preferred by students who seek interest in thinking critically over questions and rhetoric’s, presenting ideas clearly and succinctly, developing creative solutions to problems and even working together in a group to figure out a solution. Ideally, the students interested in Philosophy as higher studies course, should have a conceptual background in Accounting; Economics; Finance; Business Studies; Development Studies; Government and Politics; Economic and Social History; Mathematics; Anthropology; Sociology; Philosophy; Religious Studies; English Language; English Literature; Geography; Psychology; Classical Civilization; History; Archaeology; Communication Studies; Environmental Studies; World Development; Biology; Chemistry; Physics or Modern Languages. This is because the Philosophy course emphasizes on the concepts of ethics, logic and ancient philosophy like that of Plato, Aristotle and Socrates, critical thinking and the philosophies of love, mathematics, logical arguments and communication.

Eligibility

Students who wish to enroll for a bachelor's degree in philosophy should clear his/her higher secondary school certificate education from a recognized college. The duration for bachelor's course is three years.

Eligibility Criteria for Philosophy Courses Abroad

Student should have a subject of philosophy background and should have studied any one of the subject mentioned above. International Baccalaureate with 6,5,5 at Higher level, 33 points overall. Language Proficiency- IELTS of 6.5 overall with no lower than 6 in any component or TOEFL (IBT) 92 overall with minimum of 21 in listening and speaking, 22 in reading and 23 in speaking.

Scope

Branches of Philosophy

There are five main branches of philosophy. They are as follows:
