UPSEE Exam 2024 – 2025 (Updated)

Uttar Pradesh state entrance examination abbreviated as UPSEE is a state-level entrance examination conducted by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam University every year seeking admission for various UG and PG courses. There are a total of approximately 1,40,000 seats for over 750 colleges spread across the state of Uttar Pradesh. Many students having Uttar Pradesh domicile as well as from other states, take part in it.

This exam is conducted for admission in various engineering and other courses like B.Arch, Fashion design, pharmacy, MBA, MCA, and many more. All the applications for this exam have to be submitted online, including the registration fees wherever required during the filling of application form and counseling. The examination is based in an offline mode. That is, it is a pen-paper test. The chances of placement vary from college to college, depending on ranking.

Students sometimes often confuse between UPSEE and UPTU, UPTU is the name of the university- Uttar Pradesh technical university, which is now known as Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam University, whereas UPSEE is the name of the examination. The university is the main conducting body of the examination. It is a state government university under the Uttar Pradesh state government, and many government and private colleges are affiliated to it.

  1. The conducting body of UPSEE is not a deemed university.
  2. It is a platform for students who wish to pursue engineering or other allied options and get admission in various colleges.
  3. The questions asked in the exam are mainly on a 10+2 basis.
  4. Students can refer to NCERT books as study material for the preparation of exam accompanied by other competitive exam books.
  5. Students wishing to take the UPSEE examination must practice the Mock exams to get an idea of the questions asked in the exam.

UPSEE Full Form

The full form of UPSEE is the Uttar Pradesh state entrance examination. It is a state-level entrance examination through which candidates can take admission in various professional courses in both government and private colleges affiliated to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam University previously known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University.

UPSEE 2024 – 2025

UPSEE 2024 exam was scheduled to be conducted on 10th May 2024, but due to the ongoing situations that occurred due to COVID-19, it has been postponed. The new dates for the exam will be announced soon. To be updated frequently, check the official website of UPSEE (see.nic.in). The registrations for the exam have been started on 27th January 2024, and the last date for the same is 6th April 2024.

  • The UPSEE exam is conducted in an offline mode.
  • The duration of the test is for three hours.
  • The question paper consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
  • The total number of questions asked is 150, each carrying four marks which make a total of acc
  • There is no criterion for negative marking.

UPSEE Result 2024 – 2025

According to the previous year’s trends, UPSEE generally declares results in the month of June. The candidates can check their results and get to know that whether they have secured the qualifying marks and are eligible for further counseling. Separate merit lists are also prepared by the college authorities for admission in various courses. The scorecard published contains detailed information of marks of each section attempted by the student.

  • Enter the details for logging in (Date of birth and roll number of the candidate)
  • Page showing result will open up displaying the scorecard.

UPSEE Counselling 

Counseling is conducted for all the eligible candidates who have cleared the desired cut off. The counseling will be conducted on an online mode. The UPSEE Counselling consists of four rounds. Counselling also consists of spot rounds. The main motive to conduct this is to fill the vacant seats which are available after the four rounds of counseling. The candidates also have the option of withdrawing their option in counseling in case they are not satisfied with their option or college they got during counseling.

  • The two spot rounds are conducted in an offline mode.
  • The candidates have to re-register themselves to take part in the spot round.
  • The allotment of seats in colleges is done strictly according to the marks and rank secured.
  • A Counselling fee also has to be paid to take part in Counselling.
  • The options for freeze, float, and withdrawal are also present in counseling.

UPSEE Counselling 2024

The candidates must keep all the documents handy and ready during the counseling process. The counseling process consists of various steps, such as registration, choice filling, document verification, seat allotment, etc. The counseling fees to be paid for general and OBC category is Rs.20,000/- and for ST and SC candidates Rs.12,000/-. The candidate must also physically report to the college with all necessary documents once the process of counseling is finished and the locking of choices is done.

  1. The candidates have to fill all the details correctly during the registration process.
  2. The registration fee has to be paid in an online mode only (credit card/debit card/net banking)
  3. Then the candidates will have to verify their documents; after verification, an OTP will be sent on registered mobile number.
  4. The OTP is used for logging in for a choice filling. Choices can be filled according to preference.
  5. The results of seat allotment can be checked in online mode, followed by the confirmation of the seat.

UPSEE Counselling Dates

The tentative dates for the starting of counseling were the second and third weeks of June, but it has been postponed as of now due to the outbreak of COVOID-19. Usually, the counseling process begins after the declaration of results and publishing of the merit list for various courses by the college authorities.

UPSEE 2024 Application form

The application forms for UPSEE 2024 has to be filled online by the candidates. The forms have been released on 27th January 2024, and the last date to fill the application form is 6th April 2024 (which has been now extended). The candidates must follow the eligibility criteria before filling the application form. The candidates must also keep the documents required during the filling of the form.

  1. The candidate must fill his/her own name, followed by the father’s and mother’s name.
  2. The candidate has to upload scanned passport size photo and scanned signature in the application form.
  3. The candidate should have an email id and active mobile number to be registered while the application process as OTP for logging in would be sent on the particular mobile number.
  4. The candidate must have valid id proof such as adhaar card/driving license/ passport etc.
  5. The candidate must have class 10th and class 12th qualifying certificates if applying for UG course and graduation mark sheet if applying for PG courses.

UPSEE Admit Card

The tentative dates for the release of admit cards are 27th April (which may be however extended). The candidates must take at least two to three print outs of the admit card when downloaded and keep it safe. The admit cards can also be downloaded one day prior to the date of examination. The admit card contains all the necessary information of the candidate as well as important instructions that must be followed while appearing for the exam. The admit card can be downloaded by following the given simple steps-

  1. Go to the official UPSEE website (upsee.nic.in)
  2. Click on the UPSEE admit card link.
  3. Enter the necessary details, your application number, and your password to sign in.
  4. Check all the details carefully in the admit card displayed on the screen, and in case of any corrections, contact the authorities to get incorrect.
  5. Download the admit card after checking the particulars.

(Important- also, keep 2-3 recent passport size photographs ready and one photograph has to be pasted in the space provided in the admit card. And also, do not fold the admit card.)

UPSEE Colleges

UPSEE College Predictor

UPSEE college predictor uses UPSEE ranks or scores to predict the chances which college the candidate is most eligible to get. The candidate has to only enter the marks/ ranks scored and the predictor predicts the college which is most likely to be offered to the candidate. The results may not be 100% accurate but it is only done for an idea of competition where the examinee stands.

UPSEE Exam

UPSEE is a state entrance examination through which students can take admission in various courses accepting UPSEE scores, spread all over the state of Uttar Pradesh. The examination is conducted once in a year, and many students take part in it. There is also a reservation quota in the UPSEE exam. UPSEE Exam form can be filled online by visiting the official website. The exam is organized in offline mode and students appearing in the exam fill their responses in an OMR sheet.

  1. There is a 21% reservation for SC, 2% reservation for ST, and 27% reservation for OBC from Uttar Pradesh State.
  2. The fees for filling online application form is Rs 1300/- for males, transgender, and OBC category.
  3. The fees for filling online application form is Rs 650/- for females, SC/ST and PH candidates of all categories.

UPSEE Syllabus

UPSEE has 11 papers in total; the candidates can select and prepare accordingly for the courses they wish to opt for. The syllabus is mainly based on the syllabus covered in class 11th and 12th. The students can refer to NCERT books and other books which help to prepare for competitive examinations.

  • Paper 1- physics, chemistry, and mathematics

    • Physics- measurements, motion in one dimension, laws of motion, heat and thermodynamics, wave, ray optics, and wave optics, gravitation, electrostatics, work, energy and power
    • Chemistry- general organic chemistry, colligative properties, equilibrium, electrochemistry, polymers, the solid-state, periodic table, chemical bonding, atomic structure
    • Maths- algebra, probability, trigonometry, dynamics, coordinate geometry, calculus, vectors.
  • Paper 2- physics, chemistry, and biology

    • Biology- genetics, the origin of life, organic evolution, cell differentiation, plant tissue, angiosperms and gymnosperms, ecology.

UPSEE Exam Pattern

The question paper of the exam will be divided into three sections and there will be a total of 150 questions. The medium of paper would be both English and Hindi. All the questions asked would be of objective type and each question will have 4 options out of which the candidate has to choose the correct alternative. The duration of the examination is three hours that is 180 minutes.

The mode of exam will be offline but it will also be conducted in online mode for paper 5, paper 6, paper 7, paper 8, paper 9, paper 10, paper 11.

UPSEE Eligibility

The candidates must first check whether they fulfill the eligibility criteria of the UPSEE exam before filling the application form. The candidate must follow all the terms and conditions of appearing in the examination.

  1. Nationality- the candidate must be an Indian/NRI to be eligible to appear in the examination.
  2. Age- There is no upper age limit for the candidate to appear in the examination, he/she should have passed 10+2 examination.
  3. Domicile- the candidate must have a domicile of Uttar Pradesh and should have a domicile certificate. Also, in case the candidate is not from Uttar Pradesh then also, he/she can apply for the exam but would be given admission if qualified under the reserved seats.
  4. Qualifying marks- the candidate must have passed with a minimum 45% marks and 40% for ST and SC category in three subjects.

UPSEE Ranks VS Marks

UPSEE releases its cut off and it varies year to year. It depends on the difficulty of questions, number of candidates who have appeared for the exam and previous year cut-offs. Candidates securing marks equal to or above the declared cut off are considered eligible for counseling.

FAQs

Can the 10th board appearing students apply for UPSEE exam?

Ans. No, a student appearing for class 10th standard exam cannot appear in the UPSEE exam as it requires a qualifying certificate of class 12th. Moreover, the questions asked are also of 10+2 standard and knowledge of class 11th and 12th is required for attempting the questions asked.

I got 573 ranks in UPSEE MBA 2019, can I get a govt college?

Ans. Yes, you can get a government college. You must fill in the counseling form and select the college of your preference.
